aboutBLAKE
The Sound of the New Tradition
At just nineteen, Greenville, South Carolina native Blake Slaughter is already recognized as a singular talent of his generation. Now based in New York and pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Jazz Guitar at The Juilliard School, he brings a modern, global perspective to the jazz tradition.
A Virtuoso’s Perspective
Blake is a multi-instrumentalist—mastering guitar, banjo, bass, and piano—whose artistry is defined by versatility and deep emotion. While his technical command is immense, he is equally revered for his profound ability to listen, making his music a conversation as much as a performance. His sound bridges genres from Jazz and R&B to Country, Rock, and Folk.
On Stage & Beyond
From the intimate rooms of Dizzy’s Club, Birdland, Blue Note NYC, & Gregory’s Jazz Club, Rome, Italy to the stages of the Monterey & Caramoor Jazz Festivals, Blake’s trajectory is already marked by appearances at the world’s most prestigious spaces. He has shared the stage with luminaries such as Benny Benack III, Gerald Clayton, Wycliff Gordon, Sean Jones, Christian Sands, & Immanuel Wilkins.
Blake Slaughter is not just playing the music of the past—he is actively defining the future of the guitar.
